Bison: Design

The first that most people will notice about the Bison is the thickness, which is not necessarily a downside when we talk about sturdy phones. Also, the weight will not go unnoticed either, but that is mostly because of the large 5000 mAh battery. To tie it together, the Bison from UMIDIGI is a highly durable, waterproof, and dustproof device that is designed to withstand even the most extreme conditions.

Design-wise, the front is pretty simple. The display is large, bright, and vibrant, and gives the full HD experience. At the top, in a small middle section, you can find the 25MP selfie camera in a U-shape notch. The back is made of plastic, but a soft, rubbery one that is both solid and nice to touch, offering a great grip. The Bison name is proudly displayed, with shiny plastic background.

Also, the camera bump holds 4 camera setups: 48MP main camera, 16MP ultra-wide angle camera, 5MP macro camera and 5MP depth sensor camera. With this kind of offer, we can only expect amazing footage, even in the dark, thanks to the dual LED flash. The main speaker produces loud and clear sound and can also be found on the back, located near the bottom. An extra feature is the red ”hoop” at the bottom, most likely put there to be able to attach a land-yard, or something similar.

Bison: Build

The best thing about the sides of the Bison is the metal reinforcement, including the buttons. On the right side, there are 4 of them: the two volume rockers, the power button, and another one for the underwater camera. They all have a textured surface, that gives extra grip. On the left side are the SIM tray/TF card slot (that pulls out easily), the side mounted fingerprint sensor, and a programmable button. The sensor is really fast and accurate, and the programmable button can do anything you want. As a default, it is a PTT button that works with the pre-installed walkie-talkie app, Zello.

At the top, you will find only the 3.5mm audio jack, and on the bottom the USB type-C port and the tiny mic hole. Simple and functional.

Bison: Performance

The Bison is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core SoC and supported by 6GB of RAM. This combination is able to run multi-tasking jobs easily, including games. Regarding daily use, like checking emails, chatting on messenger apps, photo editing, social media, or other similar things, everything is a breeze. On a schedule like this, the battery is likely to last up to 2 days. Concerning heavy usage, like photo and video editing, streaming, some gaming, the performance is also pretty good. The Bison does not heat up during all this, which is definitely a plus. The battery can last a full day, hitting 10% only late at night. Overall, this model will not let you down, no matter how hard you push it.

Camera

The main camera on the Bison is pretty standard, a 48MP Sony sensor, but the footage really relies on how you use it. Most of the photos turn out to be sharp and vibrant, while the auto focus can be rather fast, but there is definitely room for improvement. For the best results, all you need to do is fine tune the camera app, which is really easy to use. You can switch to different modes from the main camera interface.

You can also turn on the AI function that lets the app choose the best way to capture your photos. With 13 scenarios available, any photo session will turn into a dream.

All in all, the Bison is truly an impressive device. It might be just the perfect fit for you if you work outdoors, or maybe offer delivery services. This is especially because if there are rough conditions, you will not need to worry about your phone and simply work as usual. Not to mention you can finally set free from the constant fear of dropping it. Trust us, it will withstand basically anything. If you want to try it out and see for yourself, you can find it either on AliExpress, or Banggood, at a great deal. Let us know about your experience with it!
