Best Chinese Smartphones 2020

Chinese phones nowadays acquired great popularity among those who want quality smartphones at a slightly lower price, but which are the Best Chinese Smartphones 2020?

I complied a top smartphone list for that purpose to help you chose the right one for you, and to be a bit clearer about them.

Many confuse Chinese brands with fewer quality properties, but this is not the case. Nowadays, Chinese phone brands have competed with the major smartphone manufacturers.

Moreover, these Chinese brands are already fully integrated into the public consciousness. We did not even notice that they are not the South Korean brands like Samsung, LG, and others.

Huawei and Xiaomi are now fully known brands, and we don’t even realize that they are actually Chinese brands. Then there’s the OnePlus, which is known for making premium quality flagship phones.

The market has changed quite a lot in the last 10 years. Old phone brands like Nokia, Motorola and Ericsson have weakened. However, the top two are still making phones, but somehow they barely compete with the Asian players. Funny enough, Motorola was an American company. Yet, later Lenovo, the Chinese company acquired Motorola Mobility, the smartphone, and consumer-oriented subsection.

And there are lesser-known brands like UMIDIGI, Elefone, Oukitel, Cubot, Vivo, Blackview and others. They are trying to cut down on the price by making their phones less quality, and sometimes we can’t decide if it’s worth the price. But of course, there are surprising exceptions.

One of the aspects where the price-cutting technique is reliable is exchanging the chipset manufacturers. MediaTek processors are quite common and qualitatively proper, of course, they are cheaper than the Snapdragons.

We can already find a lot of Chinese phone brands in the European market, but there are online shops such as Gearbest or Banggod, where they are shipped directly from China.

To wrap up this introduction, let’s see which Chinese smartphones are my choices for this year.

Huawei P40 Pro

This smartphone is one of the best flagships out there. Huawei is well known about its camera quality, using Leica sensors.

This year’s flagship is, of course, a more advanced version of the previous year. With the upgraded 50 MP camera and large image sensor, the possibility of taking bad photos is nearly impossible.

This phone has 5G connectivity, WiFi 6 and wireless fast charging. It got the latest Kirin processor under the hood, along with 8 GB of RAM. This setup results in a beast processing power.

Along with a beautifully curved display that has 90 Hz refresh rate, this smartphone is truly amazing. It got all the latest technologies.

The only downside of this flagship that lacks Google services, and it is a matter of accommodation. It isn’t easy to get used to Huawei’s operating system.

At around $850, the P40 Pro is not one of the cheapest smartphones out there. But, we are speaking about the flagship category.

OnePlus 8

It can be said that OnePlus 8 is one of the most affordable flagship phones.

Being around $100 cheaper than the Huawei P40 Pro and less expensive than the Samsung S20, OnePlus 8 has an excellent value for its price range.

It has excellent features, and the performance level is way up high. With the latest Snapdragon 865 chipset, paired with 8/12 GB of RAM, this smartphone is fast.

And not only fast, but it has a great clean design, a snappy Oxygen 10.5 operating system, and a valuable camera setup that makes excellent photos even at night.

5G compatibility and the Warp Charge 30T fast charging option follows the 2020 trend. If you are pickier and want a higher refresh rate screen than 90 Hz, than the Pro version can be the right choice for you, for the extra money.

Oppo Find X2 Pro

Oppo Find X2 Pro is one of the best or maybe the best android smartphone in the market.

Yes, it is a less known brand, but the guys at Oppo managed to put together a perfect phone.

Oppo Find X2 Pro has one of the best displays out there. Having a 6.7 inch 120Hz refresh rate, QHD+ panel, there is no other brand that can compete with that spec.

With a Snapdragon 865 5G, chipset and 12 GB DDR5 RAM combo, there is hardly a faster phone on the sale.

Well, it has the price for such a flagship specification. At around $1400, you will get one of the greatest smartphones in the market.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is undoubtedly not a flagship device, even though has a unique 108 MP lens from the penta camera combo on the back.

Unfortunately, this camera setup only in specifications meets the expectations. In reality, it has a stable mid-range quality. It doesn’t compete with flagship cameras even though the enormous megapixel lens can capture a considerable amount of detail.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 also has an immense battery, with 5,260mAh you quickly get through more than one day.

The curved AMOLED display, the unusual camera and premium built quality are the specs of a great mid-ranger.

For around $550, you will get a high-value phone for that price.

Xiaomi Mi 9T

Xiaomi Mi 9T, known as the Redmi K20 Pro on the Asian market is a great mid-range smartphone.

With its FullHD+ AMOLED screen and, the pop-up 20 MP selfie camera, the MI 9T is a unique player of the MI 9 series.

There is no notch on the main display so that you can rejoice an uninterrupted full-screen experience.

The 4,000mAh battery and the 18W fast-charging option are also a plus in this midrange segment.

At around $360, it easy to take into consideration the Xiaomi Mi 9T being an affordable, worthy phone.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro

Closing up the more affordable smartphone category, Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is still an excellent value for its price.

Being a smartphone from 2019 this is not much weaker than today’s phones.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro has a great 64 MP primary camera, along with a macro lens, an ultra-wide and a depth sensor, in this quad-camera setup.

Performance-wise Redmi Note 8 Pro has got astonishing results in the benchmark tests; it quickly overtakes some flagships.

Honor 20

The last one on the list is probably one of the best mid-range smartphones.

The Honor 20 combines excellent performance, with a tremendous quad-camera setup. With the 48 MP primary yu can get excellent photos with great detail and dynamic range.

Honour 20 has probably the best camera in this segment. At around $370 you won’t get any better mid-ranger than that.
